The Hostess

Hello,

I warmly invite you to join me for my daughter’s bridal shower—an afternoon celebrating joy, womanhood, marriage and the goodness of God.

This celebration brings together the women who have raised, prayed for, loved, counselled and walked with Kabwe through different seasons of her life.

The day draws from a beautiful tradition in which a mother and the wider community of women gather around a bride-to-be as she prepares to become a wife. It is an opportunity to share wisdom, encouragement and prayer, and to sow seeds towards the home and marriage she is preparing to build.

I am so happy that you will be part of this day. My hope is that, as you celebrate with our family, you will also experience the joy of the Lord, feel honoured for the place you hold in Kabwe’s life and be reminded of His goodness in your own story.

Kabwe

meet the bride

Hi, I’m Kabwe—the bride.

I am fun, witty and very creative, but I am also quiet, private and reserved. I love to write, read and learn, and I enjoy beautiful ideas, meaningful conversations and anything that gives me room to create or imagine. I am a changemaker too—but that’s a story for another day.

Above all, I am a lover of God. This celebration is an expression of my faith and an opportunity to thank Him for His goodness, His faithfulness and the joy He has allowed us to experience in this season.

I am marrying my best friend and the absolute love of my life, Chongo, whom I have known since I was 15. We met at a science fair—if you know, you know.

Having known him for half of my life, it feels incredibly special to step into this new chapter together. This season has carried so much favour and joy, and I am excited to celebrate it with you and with the women who have helped shape my life.

I cannot wait to laugh with you, receive your wisdom, make beautiful memories and thank God together for all that He has done. I promise it’s going to be so much fun!
